Frequently Asked Questions

What is the mission of your organization?

We encourage progressive leaders to run for local offices. Then we help them win and represent the people who build, work, and drive our communities forward.

We train candidates, assist with their campaigns, and support them in office, so they can serve and grow into the best versions of themselves.

What offices do your candidates run for?

We are based in Salem, OR, where we work to ensure that the Mayor and City Councilors are progressives.

Salem, the capital of Oregon, is a small city doing big work. It is home to the State Capitol and is the central hub for Oregon’s legislative and executive branches.

What makes your approach to local politics different?

We work exclusively with local volunteers, organizations, and small donors. We are not beholden to rich individuals, corporations, development interests or other anti-democratic forces.

How can I recommend someone to your program?

You can nominate potential candidates or volunteers through our website nomination form.

What successes has your organization achieved so far?

For ten years, we’ve helped progressive leaders win local office and create lasting change. For eight of those years our candidates have held the majority of City Council seats. We have also helped elect progressive majorities to the School Board.
